Year 12 begins with a parent information meeting in September where an overview of the year is provided along with information on ALPS and target setting.
Students are given target grades in each of their subjects and their performance is judged against these at various points throughout the year. Students are assessed in each subject using examination style questions and marking criteria. Parents will receive a Milestone Marking Report based on these assessments on three occasions during the academic year.
Each Milestone Marking Report is followed up by a Progress Review, in which students have one-on-one academic review sessions with their Learning Mentors. This gives them the opportunity to reflect on their current performance and set appropriate and achievable targets.
Parent teacher consultations are held in December and February in order to give parents and students the opportunity to discuss academic progress with subject teachers. The expectation is that all students at Post-16 attend these consultations.
